Before approaching any social situation I always try to reassure myself that I'm like anyone else and don't stand out in a bad way due to brain injury. I take a walk everyday of about 30 mins through a quiet and safe family area with little traffic along the streets and no need to worry about anyone around.

I do this to test certain things :
* Crossing streets without the appearance of dizziness/lightheadedness
* Being able to walk in the mornings (when I'm usually at my worst)
* Learning to walk without needing to concentrate on whether I appear out of place or not

I was watching the World War 2 documentary dramatization rerun, Band of Brothers, which reaired tonight on television in this country and I didn't continue watching after the first few minutes - not for any disliking : I think it's one of the few series about the 2nd World War which takes a serious perspective on the violence and emotional toll it obviously took upon the soldiers on both sides : a fine series which doesn't glorify the event.

I was going to make this a discussion, but I'll instead write it as a blog.

I recall early on in recovery when everyone I knew pledged their apparent and unwavering devotion to assist whenever their assistance was needed.
