WELCOME 2 Our World of Recovery and Restoration!

I admit it - I'm a hopeless Metallica addict. Those guys are *great*, and they're everything which the long list of gothic shlock rock-get-high-because-we-wanna-be-trendy-ites, aren't - ie darn good musicians and masterful performers.

I recently watched my copy of their 1997 'Cunning Stunts' concert and saw this scene inside it. James Hetfield (lead singer and hardrock god) points to himself and cries out "me!" before pointing at the crowd and yelling, "You!" - the implication being that he wanted the crowd to follow his lead as he began a vocal game with them.

As the scene progressed and the crowd initially didn't get it with James looking a little uncertain about whether to persevere or not, before they got it and turned loud, I had a moment of selfish inspiration about this idea being similar to an aspect of my recovery.

I saw James being like my brain, leading the body (crowd), who initially didn't understand what the brain wanted - the body initially didn't get it or was minimally responsive. Then, just as brain was about to give up, the body (audience) begins to get it and the moment escalates into a successful and fluent of singe/crowd banter.

I've been trying to get my body to listen to my brain for a while now - it didn't respond initially, but it's almost listening now.

Can you think of any music/tv/movie moments which reflect how you see your recovery? (even if you can't be bothered embedding it from Youtube - describe it)

Please excuse title profanity - finding this scene took a wee while to do as I couldn't quite think how to describe it, so I was stoked when I found this scene - just think of that first word as 'phoookin' - which makes me think of a short, purple, plump, one eyed Marshian on a Looney Toons cartoon........kinda.....thing......

*shrugs*.....I mean y'know....
