SURVIVORS PLUS!!

WELCOME 2 Our World of Recovery and Restoration!

Well, it finally happend. Stephen was "let go"..he 'lost' his job. Most of you know he was a youth pastor. He (we) continued to work at the church post 'e'..(almost four years now) Some things changed that is true, but we still managed to do the job..we just did it differently. The pastor decided though that he could get more people for his money....doing more if he fired Stephen. We are pretty much devastated. Trying to keep a roof over our head and not get too depressed. We continue to pray and look for a job hoping that there is someone out there who will hire us as a team understanding Stephen's disability. Anyway. we .thought our SP community should know. We knew you'd understand the hardship and how we feel. Prayers would be appreciated. We appreciate each of you and what you contribute to this site.

Here in our state..getting disability takes YEARS and lots of legal work..then the money isnt' that much. We need a job like yesterday since we are afaid of loosing our home. It's just plain wrong how people who claim to be Christians treat others...our ex preacher and assoc preacher are the ones who did this to us---apparently our church (after 11 years service) just takes them at their word. We would love to be able to fight well...esp legally. Appreciate your encouragement and prayers.

I am so sorry this happend.
If there is anything I can do.

You both are awesome people.
Please remember to look ahead, don't stress yourself by looking back (that is what the devil wants)

Keep your eyes on the "prize" use this time to look at you and "ALL" you both can do to strengthen one another, I pray for guidence and strength from above, for you both.

May God Bless you guys!

I think it's awful that such things happen to people who don't deserve anything but the best, such as you guys. I actually lost my teaching position I had in China because of this illness. The one consolation was that I don't really recall ever having the job at all...well, I do remember the 1st time going there, but that ended in undesirable circumstances.

You guys are obviously great people and of course you'll both be fondly in my thoughts while I also hope and pray for your inevitable re emergence from this difficult time and I look forward to reading of your taking this time in life to the cleaners by doing fantastically, as I'm confident you both will.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. apart from it being a paid job my understanding is that this is something Stephen loves. i lost my career and a job i totally loved and identified with thru E also. luckily for me i found my husband though, otherwise i would have lost my kids too.
will be thinking of you and yours and keeping you in my prayers. and as Tish says, hold onto what is good.

Elizabeth I to lost my job because of E. I was medically retired last year and have lived on alot less money from that period. We have disability services that recognize employment after illness. Can you access anything like that to give Stephen a hand. After I got retired I took my employers to court to seek compensation for the RT SHOULDER injury that I did on the job. I won but still lost my career because the only part I could do was computer work and they SAID "MY LEARNING NEEDS WHERE TO HIGH" I got tested through my injury claim and worked out what part of my brain had damage. I am now seeing an Occupational Therapist but she wasn't helpful. I believe the employment people would be a GREAT STEP FORWARD. Yes that stress I know and a man would feel it more. I am single and have others living with me. Their rent of $140/week has been my food and fuel money. GOD HAS BEEN WITH ME WHEN I HAVE FELT LIKE TOTAL CRAP. I got angry and grieved but sort counselling to help with that process. I would not have survived with HOPE in the LORD. That is been sometimes my only light in a crap day. Please keep in touch with me I KNOW HOW IT FEELS.
